The Hound

Meet The Hound, whose exclusive tips for all NSW meetings, can now be found at thedogs.com.au.

We’re sure many of you have heard of the exploits of the latest addition to TheDogs team, of fleecing bookies, being the architect of massive betting plunges, and just the talk of his “good things” sends betting agencies into a frenzy.

But until now, nobody has actually been able to pin him - and his tips - down. It took some convincing, but finally we have secured him here at thedogs.com.au.

Without even realising, you have probably seen him out and about. He blends in like any track tout, lurking around the trial tracks with stopwatch in one hand, mobile device in the other, sometimes juggling a phone or two.

You may have noticed him on racenight, always dressed in his full-length overcoat, a brown fedora, and those size 15 black boots, inconspicuously standing in the shadows, usually on one of those phones rattling through his bets to one of his many bookies, with those on the other end of that call cringing with trepidation.

From what we can gather, he grew up spending most days at the racetrack. His father was greyhound trainer who loved his dogs, but he sadly struggled to make a living from his modest team.

Having watched his father battle from week to week to pay the bills, The Hound quickly decided training greyhounds was not the life for him. It did however spark an interest, and he not only enjoyed the adrenalin rush of backing a winner, but finding that one he thought could win, and pitting his wits against the bookmaker. Even as a youngster, he would offer men 10 per cent of his winnings if they put the bets on for him. Everyone ended up a winner, except for the bagmen.

The challenge became a hobby, which then became a mission for The Hound, and a successful career was spawned, one which has led to a lavish life, all courtesy of another hound – the greyhound.

When he’s not at the racetrack, this greyhound detective spends all his time in front of one of his laptops’ screens, punching in trial times, and sectionals, the traits of hundreds of dogs, and a plethora of other statistics, all to make finding a winner as foolproof as possible.

That homework and study, the sleuthing, that tugging of coats on the racetrack, that trial track lurking, it has all been just for his own benefit … until now, with The Hound agreeing to share his wisdom with those visitors to thedogs.com.au.

For each NSW meeting, The Hound will supply his best bet, his next best on the card, and his quaddie selections.

You will be able to find them all on his own special page at thedogs.com.au, where his win-loss tally will be regularly updated.

We will also make sure his specials are shared across our social media platforms.

Happy to have you The Hound on board, we welcome you and all the winners you will be bringing with you, to our website and for our followers.
