FAMILY and friends of the late Annette Luyken, long serving secretary of the now defunct Moss Vale greyhound club and track, are invited to celebrate her life on Sunday, March 22, from 3pm at Moss Vale Services Club.
Annette, who passed away on March 4, aged 79, ran Moss Vale's weekly Saturday afternoon race meetings and was responsible for giving internationally renowned race caller Darren Flindell his start as a broadcaster.
She succeeded the late Tom Binnie as Moss Vale secretary and was there during the track's glory days, when there were as many as six bookmakers operating on the non-TAB fixtures, which covered morning and afternoon meetings on a safe, completely circular grass track.
